New Inspiration

Image
You know when you find something that feels right and you wonder what you have been doing in the meantime? Drawing in these Muji white blanks seems to be an answer to a lot of questions I had about my art of drawing. This is an image from a book I did last weekend on an Art Hike at Flamborough Head with a bunch of friends and artists. The book contains about 15 of these black and white drawings with notes added in afterwards. Most of the drawings were made while walking along the coastal path at Flamborough. It's a one off I'm afraid.

The Professionals

Image
I have been assisting gallery staff with the installation of my exhibition this week. Monday afternoon I felt sick thinking about what the drawings were going to look like in the gallery space. Walking into the room on Tuesday morning was great, the technical team had been hard at work andall four walls were covered, I thought to my self 'This is going to work'. There will also be my sketchbooks past and present on display which hopefully, will go to show my working process (Ha!).

Drawing the City on the FPI Blog

Image
Richard Bruton has been doing his homework and gets maximum points for promoting 'Drawing the city'. Find out more at the FPI blog.

I am unshaven and run down at the moment having caught my Dads cold at my Brother's wedding last week.

Film Sketch

Watched 3:10 to Yuma last night. Christian Bale is one of my favourite actors (since American Psycho) and he works well with Russell Crowe. Costume detailing is great and so is the lighting and locations (I am watching films on a 19" monitor with CLEV 2 technology so everything looks ultra realistic - just the way I like it).

'They' Are Coming....

Image
'They' are coming to take away the rolls of paper I have been drawing on for the last six months. Feel all insecure that the project is coming to an end and excited that I am going to have an exhibition at Wakefield Art Gallery.

Finishing Off...

Finishing off the panorama with a bit of white writing.

Last Days in the Studio....

Image
The deadline for this project is under two weeks away and I am busy with the panoramic drawing which is taking for ever to do working out proportions. Must remember this is not a 'mural' but an autobiographical account of my Waterfront building site experience.

Grubby Jack...

Image
Jack's been out playing in the coal and looks especially grubby this morning.
