Banner Artwork...

Image
I have been working with Facelesson a series of banners for my local community. Here are a few of the line drawings, which will be coloured up on the computer and mixed with textures to represent the place where I live. Hopefully something like this...

Sketchbook...

Image
To readdress the amount of photographs of late, I present a page from my sketchbook. No rhyme or reason here. Just random doodles, although I have just finished reading Neil Gaiman's 'The Graveyard Book'.

Walking Past 'The Hepworth'...

Image
Walking home, past the building of the new Hepworthgallery. Dusk, and camera phone produces low-res image.

Over the Shoulder...

Image
Me working on the Belle Vue Cemetery drawing from the other day.

Snow

Image
SNOW. Helen and I made a huge snowball. The snow is such a delightful consistency. We roll it up off the grass like it was loft insulation, into a big ball in the middle of the garden.

Belle Vue Cemetery, Wakefield...

So the snow descends. Helen and I skip the studios early and head off through the snow to home . It's not until the graveyard when the first ball is thrown, let battle commence!

Little Terrors...

Image
Backing paper doodles from my drawing board. Drawn with a Uniball Eye (micro) and coloured with watercolours and a waterbrush. With the new position of my drawing board I am looking out of the studio window, the guys climbing the HSBC Bank really did that, although I've exaggerated the size of the column. These characters are gremlins, or devils, or a bit of both. The faces are blank to dehumanise them on purpose.
